Mikuni's VM Series round slide single carburetors have proven themselves as the performance standard for use in any single cylinder motorcycle and ATV application for motocross, Enduro and trail riding, to flat track racing and road racing on both 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines.
Performance features for the VM series carburetors include a large selection of bore sizes for fuel mixture flow to match any engine modifications. A wide range of tuning components to allow precise fuel mixture metering in any application, at any throttle setting, and under any riding condition.
Special jetting available for your application for an additional $25 per Carb. Example: Add RD350, Expansion chambers, Y-boot filter. or stock exhaust, Stock Airbox with uni filter.
ADD Pull Choke, We will install a pull type choke on the right side carb only. use this option when ordering for the Yamaha RD's this is $20.00 for a set of 2 Carbs.
NO RETURNS, Carburetors that have been specially jetted, Modified for oil injection, or installed on a motorcycle are not returnable. No exceptions.
NOTE! These VM carburetors are not original replacement carburetors. Jetting changes will be required for most applications. if you do not select special jetting the carburetor(s) will be shipped the way they are jetted when we receive them from Mikuni. All carbs are left hand idle.
NOTE! Oil Injection for 2-strokes. The carburetors sold here are not set up for oil injection found on many vintage 2-stroke motorcycles. you will be required to drill the carburetor to allow the oil injection nozzle to be installed. We offer this service for the Yamaha RD's. This service includes drilling and installing a new nozzle. Select Oil injection option if you want this service.
NOTE! Throttle Cable. These VM carburetors are not original replacement carburetors, the slides may be slightly different from original equipment carburetors. For Yamaha RD250, 350, 400 use cable HVC200126 (with oil injection) or HVC200117 (without oil injection). For the R5 and DS7 your stock cable should work but a new cable is recommended.

Finally decided to give up on my old leaking carbs and bought these. Quality looks great, I like the fact I can keep the same look as the originals. Was not totally happy they are both the same hand, and the idle screw for the left hand card is on the inside. I had to buy the special throttle cable to suit these carbs also you can t use the original cable because I had the high top variation.
Replace carbs on bike and it cranked first kick and ran excellent!
I bought chambers and a K&N filter from HVC and expected to have a session of rejetting the old carbs. Then this came along so I ordered new carbs rejetted for the filter and pipes, and turned my '73 RD 250 into a raging firestorm while saving me a lot of effort and time getting the jetting right. After replacing the 42 year old carbs with these new ones, the bike fired on the 3rd "kick" (I used my hand) and settled down to an even idle. I went to the Internet for tuning instructions and set the idle air screw as instructed, and voila! A real nasty stormer that's easy to ride at regular speeds. The only difficulties: Unlike the originals there is no left and right side, both are "left side" carbs which puts the idle speed screw in an unhandy place for the right cylinder. Also there's no hole for the oil feed which requires drilling one in each carb. No big deal, these are easy work-arounds. Sure made a huge positive difference in performance! Thanks, HVC, you guys are the best!
