Product Description
Boyesen's patented dual-stage design incorporates a specially shaped top reed and ported bottom reed. The top reed is lightweight and resilient for crisp throttle response at partial throttle or low RPM. The stiffer, bottom reed is ported to provide maximum flow and horsepower at higher RPM
More Airflow, More Air Velocity, More overall Power
Each set includes enough reeds for both cylinders.

Boyesen Dual Stage Reeds
Received with a stress mark in the Center of one of the pedals. It didn’t appear cracked under magnification but I am concerned about it’s longevity. I do like the theory behind the dual stage technology so I’m anticipating good results over the standard metal pedals.

Cleans up low rpm
These reeds gave a noticeable increase in power from 3000 to 6000 RPM and did a good a job of reducing part throttle surging in that range. They may also increase power above 6000 RPM but the motor was pretty strong in that range to start with so it is harder to judge that range.

I'm not sure as too weather these reeds are a improvement over stock but I will say they are well packaged and the cost is reasonable as opposed to "stock replacements". One packaged took care of two intakes. The instructions specified to lay the flatter of two sides against the reed block surface. Well they seemed to be well manufactured as flatness to the naked eye for me was good either side of all the reeds, no problems there. They also include these little metal strips with holes to put over the reeds if your missing the stock curved reed stops. I guess theoretically the reeds would open up more if I put those in rather than use what was stock but the instructions stated to use the stock stops if you had em. Like I said in the beginning of this review I can't really say if this makes for a stronger hit of the powerband or smoother because I really don't know the bike very well as it's new to me. I just put these in as I already had the reed blocks out to replace the manifolds but they are cost effective and made well.
