Yamaha RD400 Rear Master Cylinder
The original rear master cylinder on the RD400 will corrode internally causing deep pits. Even with a new rebuild kit the master cylinder with bypass brake fluid and fail to build up pressure to actuate the brake caliper.
Our replacement kit is a bolt on bleed and go. It comes with all the hardware to bolt it on to the frame. Includes a banjo bolt micro switch ready to plug into the existing wire harness, and a reservoir hose
The master cylinder is a Magura unit with a 16mm piston that is found on modern day BMW rear brakes. It works great with the RD400 brake lever push rod. The adapter bracket is made from aircraft quality aluminum and anodized black to match the frame.
Slight Modification of the bracket is needed for use on the RD400F Daytona. Consists of bending over one small tab on the motorcycle frame.

easy install works perfect just had to adapt hose not a problem for anyone to mount .even me.

Just needed to reduce the hose from the reservoir to the master cylinder not a problem that’s why I gave four stars everything else is great!

RD 400 rear master cylinder
Fairly straight forward replacement part with almost all parts ready to bolt on and plug in. The only thing was the hose to the reservoir was 1/8 ID and my reservoir was 1/4 ID . It was easily remedied with a brass reduction piece. All the rest was very easy and went right on.

Looks good. Haven’t fitted it yet but it appears to be the right unit.

Excellent replacement
Does not look like the OEM, so a problem for those wanting original looks. But fits perfectly. Simple bolt on. And works like a charm. Much easier than rebuilding.

Better Than The Origial
