Vape CDI Ignition-12v/150W
Formally Powerdynamo/MZB
Magnet based generator with integrated ignition. Output at 12V/150W DC. Solid state ignition with own power supply from within the system. Replaces old dynamo, regulator and ignition coils. No changes on engine casing needed. The system is technically capable of running without battery when using a Battery Eliminator.
Rotor Keyway Service
The Vape ignition comes without a key-way and relies on lock tight and the bolt to prevent slipping. we have had the rotors slip and throw off the timing so we built some tooling to install a key-way to take care of the problem. Available for the Yamaha RD only

Advantages over old systems

NOTES:
1. Yamaha RD400 The side cover may interfere with the pick up. there is a reinforcement web inside the cover that will need to be milled down to clear to allow the cover to fit flush.
2. Rotor Keyway Service. offered by HVCcycle only. This sets the timing at 2 mm BTDC +/- .2 mm this will prevent the rotor from slipping on the crank shaft.
3. To remove the original Yamaha rotor use this puller bolt. LINK
4. To remove the Vape rotor use this puller. LINK
5. Coil mount brackets. this is a good way to mount the Vape coil to the Frame center backbone. LINK
6. When using a battery eliminator. wire it up as if it was the battery.
7. when starting the bike, make sure the lights are off and the turn signal switch is not selected on.
